  • The environment is an essential element of our lives, therefore it requires special attention from society and increased care from competent institutions. The Ministry of the Environment has, among other things, the mission to permanently supervise the state of the environment, to act, through subordinate structures and, in accordance with national legislation and international norms, to prevent disasters.

  • Through the nature of its duties and through the projects it runs, the Ministry of the Environment contributes to ensuring optimal living conditions for citizens, at the same time informing them about what climate change means and what is its impact on the economy and society, how waste should be managed, what should be done to conserve biodiversity and what is the importance of sustainable development.

  • The Ministry of the Environment controls industrial pollution, the quality of the surrounding air, monitors the level of ambient noise, the condition of the soil and the subsoil, verifies the contaminated sites, at the same time realizing the policy at the national level in the fields of environmental protection, green economy, biodiversity, natural protected areas and climate change.

  • Equally important are, within the Ministry of the Environment, the implementation and management of public investment programs/projects, financed from European funds, from the state budget, from external credits and from other legally established sources, in accordance with the development strategy and the policy of the Romanian Government in these areas.

  • Among the challenges of the third millennium, climate change occupies, at the global level, a special place in the agenda of the responsible factors, constrained by various international agreements to find solutions and solutions to the problems generated by global warming, so that, through intelligent programs and measures, ensure a sustainable development of the Earth. Only in this way will future generations be able to benefit from a healthier, less polluted ecosystem.

  • The Ministry of the Environment is the main instrument for putting all these wishes into practice. In other words, the role of the Ministry of the Environment is to ensure that our future is secure.
